50501 Movement Mobilizes for ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action Saturday, January 31st, Organizes Anti-ICE Pressure Campaigns

Updated: 1 minute ago

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 27, 2026

Minneapolis, MN – In response to the cold-blooded execution of Alex Pretti by the U.S. Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross’s execution of Renee Nicole Good, and ICE’s kidnapping, detention, and murder of our fellow Americans, 50501 is organizing the ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action on January 31st, the No Housing for ICE boycott campaign of Hilton and other complicit hotels, the #DontServeICE movement encouraging local businesses to refuse to cooperate with ICE, and a Primary Pro-ICE Democrats campaign to primary pro-ICE democratic representatives and pressure Senators to vote against funding for the Department of Homeland Security until ICE and CBP are permanently removed from our streets.

No More Secret Police

On Saturday, January 24th, a U.S. Border Patrol Officer executed 37-year-old legal observer and Veterans Affairs’ ICU nurse Alex Pretti in broad daylight, in cold blood, in Minneapolis. They surrounded him, tackled him, and emptied an entire clip of ammunition into him without provocation. This comes after ICE agent Jonathan Ross executed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on January 7th in front of her wife, after ICE kidnapped 5-year old Liam Ramos to use as bait to capture his father, and after the strangling of Geraldo Campos at Camp East Montana in El Paso, Texas on January 3rd was properly ruled as a murder despite DHS officials repeatedly misrepresenting the homicide.

“The purpose of the system is what it does,” said 50501 National Press Coordinator Hunter Dunn. “ICE exists to kidnap children, throw our neighbors into concentration camps, and execute Americans in the street. We must do more than simply abolish ICE: we must prosecute every single official complicit in their crimes against the American people.”

ICE Out of Everywhere

50501 is mobilizing for the ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action this Saturday, January 31st, when communities in all 50 states will come together to protest outside of ICE detention centers, ICE field offices, airlines flying out ICE victims, and Congressional Offices to demand the blocking of DHS funding until ICE and CBP are permanently removed from our streets, the abolition of ICE and dismantling of DHS, and justice for the murders of Renee Nicole Good, Alex Pretti, and Geraldo Campos.

In addition, 50501 will be supporting rapid response protests and mutual aid efforts, including general strike funds, taking place across the country with the same demands. We are encouraging organizers to work with local, established immigrant rights groups when planning both the rapid response protests and the National Day of Action.

“We must stand up and resist the administration that is murdering our neighbors in broad daylight and is using their children as bait to lure them out of their homes,” said 50501 National Partner and Voices of Florida Executive Director Sarah Parker. “On Saturday, January 31st, communities will come together across the country to shout with one voice: ICE Out of Everywhere.”

No Housing for ICE

50501 is launching a boycott campaign to pressure hotels around the country to stop housing ICE, CBP, and DHS agents during their operations. We are asking participants to call hotels and explain why they should stop housing ICE agents and contractors, leave 1-star reviews on hotels harboring ICE operations, organize creative dissent near hotels hosting ICE agents, and book and then cancel reservations at hotels that refuse to back down from supporting ICE.

#DontServeICE

50501 is also launching the #DontServeICE movement to encourage local business owners, hotels, restaurants, and gas stations to refuse service to ICE, CBP, and DHS agents. This initiative includes encouraging local businesses and chambers of commerce to pledge not to serve ICE agents, calling out local ICE-friendly businesses and leaving negative reviews, encouraging consumers to boycott Target, Home Depot, and other companies that support ICE, and encouraging everyday people to make social media content using the hashtag #DontServeICE to promote economic non-cooperation with ICE.

Primary Pro-ICE Democrats

The 50501 movement is committing to primarying pro-ICE democratic representatives. We are tracking each congressperson’s stance and recent votes on ICE and DHS funding, tactics, operations, and continued existence; primarying elected Democrats who have supported recent pro-ICE legislation; and pressuring Senators to vote against the DHS funding bill until ICE is permanently removed from communities across the country.

At this time, we are focusing our primarying efforts Democratic Representatives Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Don Davis (NC-5), Laura Gillen (NY-4), Jared Golden (ME-2), Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34), Marie Glusenkamp Perez (WA-3), and Tom Suozzi (NY-3), who all voted for the DHS funding bill (H.R. 7147), as well as Representative Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) who helped pass H.R. 7147, and Representative Adam Gray (CA-13), who voted for H.R. 4371, which allows ICE to strip-search minors. We will be organizing protests outside of their offices, platforming anti-ICE primary challengers, and repeatedly exposing their betrayal of the American people.

In addition, 50501 is organizing efforts to pressure elected officials into calling for and co-sponsoring legislation permanently removing ICE from our communities, as well as legislation to reduce funding for and abolish ICE and DHS, encourage local and state officials to end 287(g) agreements, and bar other forms of cooperation between ICE, DHS, and local law enforcement.

Shut Out ICE

“We have a moral duty to disobey unjust laws,” said 50501 National Communications Coordinator and veteran Logan Keith. “ICE has been ravaging our communities and targeting civilians, but every time they invade a community, we will keep teaching them the same lessons: that there are more of us than there are of them, and that We the People have the power.”

To demand the immediate and permanent removal of ICE, CBP, and DHS off of our streets, the 50501 movement is organizing the ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action on Saturday, January 31st, the No Housing for ICE boycott, the Don’t Serve ICE movement, and After the 31st, 50501 will be mobilizing with its partners in the Impeachment Coalition for an Impeach Trump National Day of Lobbying on February 17th, 2026.
