At hundreds of events across the country, protestors demanded that Congress block DHS funding until ICE and CBP are removed from local communities, that justice is pursued for the victims of ICE’s reign of terror, and for the abolition of ICE, dismantling of DHS, and accountability of complicit officials for their crimes against the American people. The ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action, spearheaded by the 50501 Movement and the Women’s March, was a follow-up action to the National Shutdown on January 30th, organized in the wake of two public executions of Renée Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, as well as the prior ICE murder of Keith Porter and the 35 deaths in ICE detention.

“We need everyone to continue the fight and stand up for their neighbors,” 50501 National Partner and Political Revolution Co-Founder Gloriann Sahay said. “This is about more than just defending democracy; it’s about protecting our friends, our family, and our neighbors. We are fighting for the fabric of America.”

The Momentum is Growing

"Americans are turning their back on this regime that targets immigrants, families, women, and workers while protecting abusers and chipping away at our freedoms," said Rachel O'Leary Carmona, Executive Director of Women's March. "The movement is growing because people across the country know that dignity, safety and justice cannot exist alongside the horrors inflicted by ICE and this administration. We will not stop defending our neighbors until these systems of violence are dismantled for good."

In Minneapolis, the present epicenter of the Trump administration’s brutality, over a hundred thousand people took to the streets on Friday, and more than fifty thousand gathered the next day. From Boston to Los Angeles, Honolulu to Spokane, small towns to big cities, people gathered for consecutive days of actions, engaging in walkouts, protests, sit-ins, and community defense training sessions. Artists like Peter Dinklage, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sara Bareilles, and John Leguizamo joined the resistance at The People’s Filibuster on Saturday. All this sent a clear message to the Trump administration: no matter the chaos, violence, and lawlessness of ICE and their authoritarian enablers, our will to defend our communities remains strong.

The Trump administration’s support is collapsing, with less than 30% of Americans saying they support all or most of its policies. Recent polling shows that strong majorities of Americans stand opposed to mass deportation and ICE violence. More than 75% of Democratic voters support abolishing ICE, and more Americans support the abolition of ICE than oppose it. Even the Senate, historically resistant to significant political change, voted 55-45 against the DHS Funding bill, instead opting to fund the rest of the government through the end of September while temporarily extending DHS funding for 2 weeks to continue negotiations about oversight, accountability, and potential budget restrictions.

Next Steps

After the success of the National Shutdown and the ICE Out of Everywhere National Days of Action, the 50501 Movement and the Women's March are already mobilizing for their next actions. The 50501 Movement is joining the Impeachment Coalition for an Impeach Trump National Day of Lobbying on February 17, 2026, and is working with its partners in the No Kings Coalition to prepare for the next No Kings National Day of Action on March 28. The Women's March is hosting a mass call for their Brave Women campaign on February 11 and a Brave Women Weekend of Action on March 7-8 in honor of International Women's Day.
