April 19: A National Day of Action

Across the country — from small towns to big cities — people are rising up.

April 19 will be a Day of Action: a nationwide grassroots response to authoritarian threats, political overreach, and the erosion of democracy.

In all 50 states, local communities are taking action in their own way. Some are rallying or marching in the streets. Others are hosting food drives, teach-ins, mutual aid pop-ups, or voter registration events. Wherever and however people show up April 19, one thing is clear:

This movement is growing — and it belongs to all of us.

What Is the 50501 Movement?

The name stands for 50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Movement, and it’s a decentralized, people-powered network of resistance and resilience.

The People’s Movement Stands Against:

• The Billionaire Takeover – Trump, Musk, and their billionaire allies are consolidating power, buying politicians, rigging the system, and silencing the people to serve their own interests.

• An Economy Rigged Against the People – While billionaires amass historic wealth, working Americans are crushed by skyrocketing costs, union-busting, and poverty wages.

• Trump’s Defiance of the Law – Trump has defied court rulings, purged federal agencies, targeted political opponents, and declared himself above the law.

• The Erosion of Freedom – From state-sanctioned kidnappings of students and immigrants deported without due process to attacks on voting rights, reproductive healthcare, workers’ rights, and free elections, oligarchs are dismantling the foundations of our country.

We’re not affiliated with any one candidate or party. We’re multi-racial, multi-generational, cross-class, and led by people who believe in nonviolence, mutual care, and democratic values.

A Day of Protest and Community Care

What makes this day different is that it’s not just about protest — it’s about building power from the ground up.

Yes, there are marches, rallies, and courthouse demonstrations. But there are also diaper drives, skill shares, free community meals, and teach-ins happening all over the country. This is intentional. Because real change doesn’t just come from loud chants — it comes from deep connections.

Whether you’re in the streets or the local library, you’re part of something bigger.
